Safe Living: Best Days Recovery Homes are structured, safe and substance-free living environments for individuals in recovery.
Lower Relapse Rates: Numerous studies have shown that most people who live in sober homes after attending substance abuse treatment have low rates of relapse and are able to live productive lives.
No Predetermined Time Limit: Sober living homes are maintained through fees, and residents can usually stay as long as they want.
Affordable: Sober living homes are realistic, cost-effective living environments for people in recovery.
Level II Living Facility: The National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR) is one of the largest associations of sober living homes in the United States. NARR has defined four different levels of support and services that can be used to characterize most sober living homes. All four levels provide an alcohol and illicit drug-free living environment and utilize the Social Model of recovery support.
Level II “Monitored” Recovery Residences utilize a House Manager and employ at least one paid staff member. Written policies and procedures define the operation of the recovery residence. Provided services include mandatory drug screening and regularly scheduled house meetings. Regular participation in a self-help group (e.g., Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous) or a formal substance abuse treatment program is mandatory.
SOCIAL MODEL of RECOVERY: People suffering from addiction to alcohol or drugs have usually cut themselves off from the positive, supportive people in their lives. They have lost faith that they are worthy of being around “decent” people and believe they are beyond hope or redemption. Recovery involves addressing the human need for positive, productive, engaging social interactions. Immersion in the fellowship community at Best Days, guided by our Director - Social Model of Recovery, provides an environment filled with caring, positive, empathetic and empowering people that can have a significant impact on people whose ability to thrive has been compromised by substance abuse disorders. Most of our team members are peers who have lived experiences akin to what our residents are experiencing and can offer a unique level of understanding and support. We aim to provide a functional family with structure, nurturing, kindness, guidance and unconditional positive regard. We don’t talk of “cures” but in terms of the processes of growth and change on the lifelong recovery Journey.
VISION STATEMENT: Best Days Recovery, LLC will strive to provide welcoming, comfortable, safe and effective monitored sober living homes, grounded on the Social Model of Recovery, anywhere a need arises in the San Antonio, Texas region. We will grow as needed, providing residents and staff an opportunity to grow with us. We will stay open-minded, continually seeking guidance from the National Alliance of Recovery Residences (NARR), the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), other recovery residence professionals, as well as our volunteer Best Days Recovery Advisory Board.
